Co-sell that actually closes — PartnerImpact ============================================ Source: https://www.partnerimpact.net/insights/cosell-that-actually-closes Text version: https://www.partnerimpact.net/text/insights/cosell-that-actually-closes.txt Site: PartnerImpact — B2B SaaS partnerships advisory by Bart Dirksen Published: 2026-05-20 Category: Co-Sell & GTM Co-sell stalls when partnerships and sales run different playbooks. Fix the handoff spec, the compensation, and the weekly cadence. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Co-sell is the most over-announced and under-engineered motion in B2B SaaS. Every partnerships team says they do it. Very few can point to a repeatable path from partner-sourced meeting to closed revenue. ## Three failure modes - The handoff is undefined. Partner passes a lead, seller does not know what to do with it, opportunity dies. - Compensation is misaligned. The seller carries a quota that treats partner deals the same as direct deals, or worse. - The cadence is missing. Nobody meets weekly to unstick the deals in flight. ## What good looks like A single-page handoff spec. A compensation accelerator on partner-sourced ARR. A weekly deal desk between partnerships and the AEs who own the accounts. Not complicated, but rarely in place. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Navigation: - Home: https://www.partnerimpact.net/ - Insights: https://www.partnerimpact.net/insights - Partner Program Maturity Assessment: https://www.partnerimpact.net/partner-maturity-assessment - Finding Traction in Partnerships (book): https://www.partnerimpact.net/book - Free book sample: https://www.partnerimpact.net/book/sample - Contact: https://www.partnerimpact.net/#contact - Privacy policy: https://www.partnerimpact.net/privacy All plain-text pages: https://www.partnerimpact.net/text/ Contact: partnerimpact@outlook.com © PartnerImpact — Kweldam 1, 6678DK Oosterhout, NL — VAT NL005331357B74
